IHB receives twin honors at TOOFW 2005 rites
Manama, Bahrain, June 11, 2005 - The International Hospital of Bahrain (IHB) received a double recognition last night at the glittering awarding ceremonies of the first ever Search for the Ten Outstanding Overseas Filipino Workers in Bahrain (TOOFW) at the grand Awal Hall of the Gulf Hotel.
IHB Hospital Administrator Janet Fabian was named Outstanding Overseas Filipino Worker in the Health Services Category. Miss Fabian was beaming with pride and magnanimity when she received her plaque and trophy from Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E. Pablo Maglaya, Philippine Labor Attache' Alejandro Santos and Consul Hassan Jumdain witnessed by some five hundred invited guests, family and friends of the awardees.
Miss Fabian was cited for her inspirational climb to success and her generosity for giving back to the community. Miss Fabian started as an Executive Assistant at the hospital and since rose from the ranks to become the hospital administrator of what was described as one of the most prestigious private hospitals in the Middle East. She has facilitated numerous outreach programs that has helped many Filipinos avail of the superior medical services of the hospital at practically no cost at all.
Miss Fabian has similarly been recognized for helping close to two hundred Filipino health workers secure comfortable situations at the hospital. She has also managed to bring IHB closer not to the Filipino community.
In the same program, the International Hospital of Bahrain was also awarded a plaque for its unequivocal support to the Philippine Embassy and the Filipino community.
IHB President, Dr. Faysal Al Zeerah and his lovely wife, Miss Julianne Zeerah, were present to receive the citation from Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E. Pablo Maglaya.
The awards received by the International Hospital of Bahrain is a testament of the hospital's commitment to the community and will, specifically, inspire the hospital to always be available to the Filipinos in Bahrain and across the Middle East.
