The International Hospital of Bahrain held the First IHB International Rheumatology Conference at the Bahrain Gulf Hotel on 17 September 2011. The scientific gathering brought together international medical professionals from Germany, Italy, Kuwait and Egypt as well as local doctors and students.

The objective of this highly esteemed Scientific Meeting was to discuss the recent advances in early diagnosis and management of various rheumatic diseases with special emphasis on certain diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Gout, Ankylosing Spondylitis & Osteoporosis.

Surgical management of such diseases were also discussed with the objective of comprehensive management of such diseases.

Prof. Samir El-Badawy, Professor of Rheumatology, Department of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Cairo University, Egypt, was the Chairman of the Scientific Conference. The Faculty of the meeting included international, regional and local speakers:
